Someone on WhatsApp says he works in a university admission office and can get me admission for ₦80,000. He showed me a list with names. Is this real?

Treat it as a scam until proven otherwise. The pattern is always the same: a screenshot of a list, a private account, urgency, and a fee that must be paid before you can "verify".

Real admission:

  • Goes through JAMB CAPS and the school's official portal.
  • Never requires a payment to a personal account.
  • Does not need an "agent" to add your name.
  • Is confirmed by the school's admissions office and JAMB, not by a WhatsApp screenshot.

What to do:

  1. Do not send money.
  2. Screenshot the conversation and report the account to WhatsApp.
  3. Verify any claim directly with the school's admissions office.
  4. If you have already paid, report to the police and your bank immediately.

No one can sell you a place that you did not qualify for. Anyone who says otherwise is taking your money.

I almost paid last year. This should be pinned.

It is worth repeating every admission cycle. If a "list" cannot be checked on CAPS, it is not an admission.
