A 180 can still lead to admission, but your options are narrower. What matters is:
- The course and school. Some programmes at less competitive schools admit around the minimum cut-off; Medicine, Law and Pharmacy will not.
- Your O'level. Strong grades can lift your aggregate.
- Screening performance, where the school uses post-UTME.
- Course flexibility. A related, less competitive course at the same school may be realistic.
Practical steps:
- Check the current JAMB minimum and your target school's departmental cut-off.
- Confirm your subject combination and O'level credits.
- Prepare seriously for the school's screening, if it has one.
- Have a Plan B — a less competitive course, a polytechnic, or a rewrite — and decide before the admission rush.
Do not pay anyone promising admission with a low score. That is a scam.
