The UTME is a speed test as much as a knowledge test. A workable rhythm:
- Know your total time and question count before you start. Divide to get your average seconds per question.
- First pass: answer everything you know immediately. Do not linger on a hard question.
- Second pass: return to flagged questions with the time you saved.
- Never leave a blank. There is no penalty for a wrong answer, so guess intelligently before submitting.
Practice habits that transfer:
- Do timed sets, not untimed browsing.
- Use the CBT interface, not paper, so the buttons feel familiar.
- Practise calculator-free arithmetic for speed.
- Review your error log for careless mistakes — wrong units, misread "NOT", skipped options.
On exam day, read the instruction screen carefully, confirm the subject order, and keep an eye on the clock without checking it after every question.
