About JambUp

Built for one thing: helping Nigerian candidates pass JAMB

JambUp is an independent JAMB preparation platform. We are not affiliated with the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board, and we do not claim to be. What we do is give candidates the two things that actually move a UTME score: real past questions, and honest feedback on which topics are costing them marks.

The problem we kept running into

Most JAMB preparation material in Nigeria is either a PDF of answers with no explanation, or a website that dumps thousands of questions with no structure and no feedback. Both feel like studying. Neither tells you whether you are improving.

A candidate can spend three months reading answers and still walk into the exam hall without having sat a single timed paper. That gap — between reading and performing — is where scores are lost.

What we built instead

JambUp turns the syllabus into something you can work through and measure:

  • 1.Real past questions with worked explanations. Every question is answered, and every answer explains why it is correct — not just which option to pick.
  • 2.Timed CBT practice. The real constraint in JAMB is time. Our mock sessions run under exam conditions so pacing becomes a skill, not a gamble.
  • 3.Topic-level analytics. We tag questions to syllabus topics, so you can see which topics you are actually weak in instead of revising everything equally.
  • 4.A reason to come back. Streaks, XP, leaderboards and topic challenges exist for a plain reason: consistency beats cramming, and consistency needs a habit.

How we handle question quality

Questions are sourced from past UTME papers, tagged to the syllabus topic they belong to, and paired with a written explanation. Every question can be flagged by any user, and flagged questions are reviewed and corrected. Our review standard is documented in full on the how we verify questions page.

We would rather be measured on that than on a marketing claim.

Free to use

Past questions are not paywalled. You can create an account and practise on the web, or install the Android app for offline practice. Paid options exist for candidates who want more, but the core — questions, explanations, timed mocks — is free.

Talk to us

Corrections, complaints and feature requests all go to the same inbox and are read by the people who build the product: [email protected]. If a question is wrong, we want to know — telling us is the fastest way to improve the platform for every other candidate.
