JAMB 2027 Registration

JAMB 2027 Registration: Dates, Fees, Requirements and Step-by-Step Guide

Everything you need to register for JAMB 2027 UTME correctly the first time — the documents to bring, the fee to expect, how to pick your four subjects, and the specific errors that invalidate thousands of registrations every year.

2027 registration dates: not yet announced

JAMB has not published the 2027 registration window yet. Registration normally opens in the first quarter of the exam year and runs for roughly six weeks. We update this page the moment JAMB makes the dates official — we do not guess, because a wrong date costs candidates a whole admission cycle.

What you need before you start

Most registration failures are not caused by JAMB's system — they are caused by candidates arriving at the centre without one of the following. Sort these out first and the process itself takes under an hour.

1. A valid NIN

A National Identification Number is compulsory. The name, date of birth and gender on your NIN must match your JAMB details exactly. Spelling differences are the single most common cause of a rejected or later-invalidated registration.

2. A working email address

Use an inbox you can still access months later. Your profile code, result notification and any correction notices are tied to it. A borrowed or abandoned email is why some candidates cannot retrieve their own results.

3. A phone number you control

Your number receives registration and result messages. Do not use a cybercafe's line or a number you plan to abandon before the exam.

4. Your four subjects decided

Use of English plus three course-relevant subjects. Decide before you get to the centre — changing subjects later is far harder than choosing correctly once. See our subject combination guide.

5. Your institution and course choices

Know your first-choice and second-choice institutions and courses. Pick a course family whose cut-off mark is realistic against where your practice scores currently sit.

6. Your O'level subjects

Record your O'level subject grades accurately, including the examination and year. These feed your admission record, and correcting them afterwards costs both money and time.

The registration process, step by step

  1. 1

Create your profile and get a profile code

Start your profile with your NIN and a personal phone number and email, then note the profile code JAMB issues. That code is how you will retrieve or correct the registration later.

  2. 2

    Buy your e-PIN

Purchase the registration e-PIN through the official JAMB channel and send it to the phone number tied to your profile. Pay the official amount and keep the confirmation — agents commonly quote inflated 'processing' totals.

  3. 3

    Go to an accredited centre

Biometrics and photographs can only be captured at accredited centres. Confirm the centre is currently accredited for the 2027 cycle — accreditation changes between years.

  4. 4

    Fill in your details

Name, date of birth, gender, institutions, course and O'level grades. Check every spelling against the documents you brought. Confirm what is actually typed — not what you intended to type.

  5. 5

    Select four subjects

Use of English is automatic. The other three must satisfy the syllabus requirements for your course. An invalid combination can make you ineligible for the course you are applying to, no matter how well you score.

  6. 6

    Bio-data capture and confirmation

Fingerprints and photograph are captured, then you review and confirm the whole record. This is your last cheap chance to catch an error — after confirmation, fixing anything means an official correction.

  7. 7

Collect and verify your registration slip

Your slip shows your exam centre, date and subjects. Photograph it, save it in two places, and check the printed details before you leave the centre.

The mistakes that void a registration

These are not rare edge cases. They account for the majority of candidates who register successfully and still cannot sit the exam, or sit it and cannot be admitted.

Registering through an unaccredited agent

If your biometrics are never captured at an accredited centre, JAMB has no verified record of you. Candidates discover this on exam day, when there is nothing that can be done.

A NIN that does not match your details

A single differing letter or a different date of birth between your NIN and your JAMB profile can invalidate the registration during admission screening, long after you have paid.

Choosing subjects that do not fit your course

A 300 score cannot save an invalid subject combination. Check the requirements for your specific course and institution before confirming, not after.

Paying an inflated fee to an agent

Confirm the official figure for the 2027 cycle and pay only through official channels. Extra payments to agents buy you nothing and are not refundable.

Leaving without checking the slip

Errors caught at the centre are free to fix. Errors caught two weeks later become a paid correction, or in the worst case an unseated candidate.

After you register, the real work starts

Registration is administrative. Your score is decided by what you do in the weeks between registering and sitting the exam — and that window is shorter than most candidates assume. The students who score above 280 almost always start timed practice immediately rather than 'waiting until they are ready'.

JAMB 2027 registration: common questions

When does JAMB 2027 registration start?

JAMB has not announced the official window yet. Registration typically opens in the first quarter of the exam year and runs about six weeks. This page is updated as soon as JAMB publishes the dates.

How much is the JAMB 2027 registration fee?

The fee is set by JAMB each cycle and paid through the e-PIN. Confirm the current official figure before paying — agents frequently quote inflated totals. The optional mock examination carries a separate charge.

Can I register without a NIN?

No. A National Identification Number is mandatory. Enrol with NIMC first and make sure your name, date of birth and gender match exactly across your NIN and JAMB profile.

Do I have to register at an accredited centre?

Yes. Your biometrics and photograph must be captured at an accredited centre. Without that capture there is no verified record of you for the examination.

How many subjects do I register for?

Four: Use of English plus three subjects relevant to your course. Check the subject combination requirements for your intended course before confirming.

What should I do right after registering?

Check your slip for errors, note your centre and date, then start timed practice immediately. Candidates who begin past-question practice in the weeks after registration consistently outperform those who wait.
