JAMB aggregate score: common questions

How is the JAMB aggregate score calculated?

Your aggregate combines your UTME and post-UTME scores, weighted according to the school. The most common weighting is 50% UTME and 50% post-UTME, producing a score out of 100. Some schools use 60/40 or 70/30, so check your institution's rule — the calculator lets you switch between them.

What is a good JAMB aggregate score?

As a rough guide: 70 and above is strong for competitive courses at federal universities, 60–69 is competitive for many courses, and below 50 is usually short of the bar for popular programmes. Medicine, Law and similar courses often pull the effective bar higher.

Does a high aggregate guarantee admission?

No. Your aggregate gets you into consideration. Admission also depends on your O'Level grades, how many people applied for that course that year, catchment and merit rules, and whether you met the subject combination requirement.

What if my post-UTME result is not out yet?

Leave the post-UTME field at zero to see the UTME-only contribution, or enter a realistic estimate to see how much the screening result will move your final aggregate.
