Is it four subjects for everyone, or does it depend on the course? I want to study Economics and I am not sure whether to add Government or Literature.

You register for four subjects in the UTME:
For Economics, the usual combination is English, Mathematics, Economics and one of Government, Commerce, Accounting or Geography. Check the JAMB brochure for the exact requirements of your chosen course and school — some schools narrow the acceptable fourth subject.
Do not register five subjects "for safety". Only four are written, and the extra subject will not help you.
